May 10, 2014 – Owing to the dissolution of the Ontario Legislative Assembly on May 2, 2014—and the election period that runs until June 12—Ontario Power Authority (OPA) says it restrict work to “routine business”.

“Decisions on launching initiatives or on the execution of new agreements that are not routine business are deferred until after the election,” says OPA, adding that public consultation activities planned for this period are also deferred.

“This may affect the timelines associated with some initiatives,” continues OPA, saying it provide updates “when they are available”.

OPA says it will continue to process normal administrative matters contemplated in its contracts, such as changes of control, force majeure claims and assignments to affiliates. It will also continue the normal administration of contracts toward project completion, such as processing FIT Notice to Proceed applications.

The authority advises contract holders or program applicants to contact their OPA rep  or email info@powerauthority.on.ca if they have questions about what can or cannot proceed prior to June 12.
