Corning Optical Fiber’s Marty Curran now Innovation Officer

July 19, 2012 - Corning Inc.’s board of directors has elected Martin J. Curran to the position of senior vice-president and innovation officer—a new position in the company—effective August 1, 2012.
Curran will report to both Wendell P. Weeks (chair, CEO and president) and Dr. David L. Morse (executive vice-president and CTO). Most recently, Curran served as senior vice-president and general manager, Corning Optical Fiber.
Curran joined Corning in 1984 and has held several roles in finance, manufacturing and marketing, and served as senior vice-president and general manager for Corning Cable Systems Hardware and Equipment Americas organization, prior to being named head of optical fiber.
