Technical Documentation Specialist
location in Burlingon, Ont.
Summary:
This position is responsible for maintaining technical documentation databases, supporting efforts of workload scheduling and utilizing various tools and applications to accurately create documentation.
Responsibilities:
• Use software application for technical support of orders, maintenance of records and running reports.
• Identify proper technical documents for customer documentation packets.
• Interface with manufacturing facilities to maintain technical documentation databases.
• Interpret customer plans and specifications and Vendor Data Requirements (VDR) to provide accurate information on project orders.
• Apply standard work, error proofing, product and application knowledge to drive continuous improvement and acceptance of electronic delivery of documentation.
• Interacts with outsource suppliers to help meet customer expectations.
• Meeting all deadlines and service level agreements with customers.
• Perform all job functions with adherence to Eaton's Philosophy and Values as well as the Safety and Environmental standards.
• All other duties as required by the Sales Support Services Manager.
Qualifications/Educational Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• 1-3 years related experience in documentation control, product or project engineering.
Knowledge, competencies, skills, attributes:
• Ability to handle a high volume of projects and documents.
• Experience utilizing Outlook or another software as a documentation control tool.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills are required.
• Proficient using in Microsoft applications. ACAD knowledge preferred.
• Independent judgement is required to plan, prioritize and organize diversified workload.
