GE Energy appoints Adrian Thomas as the new regional sales leader, Canada

January 31, 2012 - In the interest of "further strengthening sales operations across Canada", GE Energy’s Industrial Solutions business has appointed Adrian Thomas as the new regional sales leader for the country. Thomas will be responsible for driving sales of electrification products and services across Canada.
“We see tremendous opportunities to support the growth of Canada’s infrastructure,” said Dale Wilson, global sales leader for GE Energy’s Industrial Solutions business. “We have a dedicated sales organization of 60 experienced professionals serving Canadian customers. Adrian will bring strong leadership to the team and help us better serve customers in this important market.”

Thomas and his team will contribute to the country’s electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, bringing to market EV products like the GE WattStation Wall Mount, a "fast, easy-to-use, award-winning" EV charging station that delivers a charge in four to eight hours, described the company.

“This is a great opportunity to bring innovative products to the Canadian market that support our customers’ growth strategies and contribute to the country’s development of its resource industries and clean energy objectives,” said Thomas. “We look forward to bringing valuable solutions to our existing customers and forging relationships with new ones.”

Thomas has overall responsibility for sales of GE Energy’s electrical distribution products and services in Canada, including switchboards and panel boards, uninterruptible power supplies, metering products, circuit breakers, motor controls and capacitors. He is based in Montreal, Que., but will oversee sales operations at facilities across the country, including Calgary, Alta., and Toronto, Ont.

He brings with him more than 15 years of experience to the position and, according to GE Energy, has successfully led sales and application teams that have achieved significant growth in global markets. He began his career at GE Canada as a large motors designer in Peterborough, Ont., followed by a transition to a marketing role for GE Energy in Montreal that featured a combination of sales and commercial operations.

He holds a bachelor of science in engineering from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ont.
