Kitchen of consternation

b_200_0_16777215_0___images_stories_horror_highres_kitchen_split_miswire_01.jpg “This picture shows why people must call an authorized contractor and not try to do the work themselves,” Michael says. “Here is a very common split outlet. Now, all electricians know how to properly wire this outlet. White goes to the Common screw, bare wire goes to little Green screw, and the Red goes to one of the ‘cut’ sides of the outlet while the Black goes to the other. In this job, you can see that Red is on the Green, White is on the Common and Black is also on the right. When you go to the next outlet and the other picture, you can see that White and Red are now both on the Common, and Green and Black are where they should be.”
