Service mast of suffering
This picture shows a service mast that had non-insulated clamps crimping incoming service conductors to the home’s conductors. “Now, the fact that they don’t have any insulation protecting the connection up there may cause some to say, ‘So what? No one is up there’,” writes Michael, “However, the picture shows that the non-insulated crimps are less than one inch away from the service mast—which is grounded!”(Photo courtesy Michael Kelly of The Electrical Department Co.)
