EBMag associate editor Alyssa Dalton was there for Dickies Canada’s Dickies Performance System (DPS) outerwear launch in Toronto, Ont. Highlighting the company’s “commitment to affordable price-points, performance and comfort”, DPS targets workers in harsh elements by helping to keep them warm, dry and mobile.
“Navigating Turbulent Waters: Strategies for Mastering the New Challenges Facing the Ontario Power System” was the theme of this year’s APPrO Canadian Power Conference, and EBMag was there to learn what was burning in the minds of speakers, exhibitors and delegates, such as: “What are the top priorities for improving the system in the coming year?” or “How to ensure that future public policy takes full account of the physical characteristics of the power system?”.
The Ontario Energy Network’s mission is “to provide networking opportunities in support of the business interests of the energy industry in Ontario”, and it executed that mission again today at a luncheon featuring Anthony Haines, the president & CEO of Toronto Hydro Corp.

Last week, EBMag presented its inaugural “Partners in Training: Electrical Maintenance & Reliability Forum”, bringing together electrical contractors, service contractors, industrial engineers, maintenance professionals, plant operators, and anyone associated with maximizing a facility’s uptime. The show combined a trade show-like format and a series of training seminars.

EBMag dropped in on Westburne, 260 Ambassador Drive, Mississauga, for its Tool Show, where customers were able to deal directly with suppliers to buy the tools they need at the prices they want. The event featured lunch, door prizes and a grand prize of a Samsung 55-in. LED HDTV. The winner of the TV was drawn by special guest, Toronto Classic Rock Q107’s John Scholes. (Photos A. Capkun)
