May 27, 2016 – Livewire Electric Ltd. of Shellbrook, Sask. and Mid City Electric of La Ronge will be busy this coming season after winning the bids to expand and upgrade the electrical systems across three Saskatchewan parks: Good Spirit Lake, Lac La Ronge and Meadow Lake.

The provincial government announced it is investing more than $1.2 million into upgrading nearly 300 campsites across these parks.

“Last year, our provincial parks set a new visitation record with nearly 3.9 million visits,” said Parks, Culture and Sport minister Mark Docherty. “Projects like this to help meet the demand of our campers and provide them with a high quality visitor experience.”

The project at Good Spirit Lake will upgrade electrical service to 67 campsites, and expand service to 21 campsites, all within Aspen Campground. Every campsite in the campground will have the option of 15A or 30A service and a portion of the sites will also receive 50A service to accommodate larger recreation units.

All three of these projects also include roadway lighting and necessary site development, the province noted.
