 Caterpillar announced the availability of the XQ1250G natural gas mobile generator set. Sold and rented exclusively through Cat dealers, it is rated for continuous operation at 1250kW 480/277V 60Hz. It promises an easy-to-use control system to parallel with other Cat generators or with an electric utility. The XQ1250G power module employs a low emission G3516B engine with integrated exhaust after-treatment. It operates on low-pressure natural gas and is equipped with an active air-to-fuel ratio controller to allow for varying fuel energy content. The G3516B engine, fuel regulation components, control and distribution system, and cooling package are housed in a sound-attenuated 40 ft ISO container. The design of the XQ1250G includes 100% spill containment of all engine fluids.

The Ridgid 7000-watt RDCA7000 generator features a commercial-grade Honda engine and the convenience of a removable control panel that lets you move essential plugs and controls. This control panel is equipped with a GenSmart digital display—a system that is designed to help you monitor your generators’ performance, maintenance needs and wattage usage. The generator also features an electric starting system for easy engine starting and stopping. Run time is 16 hours at 50% load; there are four 120V and one 240V outlets.

 Schneider Electric says its Altivar 312 variable-speed AC drive is designed to make industrial and commercial machines more energy efficient while simplifying its integration into a single control system architecture. Available in 1-20 hp and up to 600V, the Altivar 312 features high overtorque and the only drive in its class, says the company, with a remote graphic keypad. The 312 comes standard with integrated communication ports for Modbus and CANopen networks, and optional cards for CANopen Daisy Chain, DeviceNet, Profibus DP. Autotuning, multi-loaders and 50 pre-loaded application functions to manage common facility processes simplify setup and installation. The drive is also fitted with coated cards (IEC 60721-3-3 Classes 3C2 and 3S2) and can withstand temperatures ranging from -10°C to 50°C without derating (even when installed side-by-side). Its integrated EMC (electro-magnetic compatibility) also minimizes power disturbances and electrical interference.

 Staco Energy Products Co.’s FLU-10S is a second generation to its FirstLine 10kVA 3-phase uninterruptible power supply (UPS). This “true online”, double-conversion UPS promises computer-grade power quality at a price, boasts Staco, significantly below comparable models. The FLU-10S has a standard battery run-time of over nine minutes (with optional batteries for extended run times). Front-end harmonic correction eliminates the need for additional filtering, and double-conversion technology protects the connected load from sags, swells, harmonics, noise and voltage imbalances without going to battery operation. This UL 1778 listed UPS is suitable for applications such as broadcast, computer networks, medical, university, process industries, etc. A control panel is located on the front of the unit, and includes an alarm and remote monitoring through an RS232 connection. The enclosure is 46 x 20 x 32 in. and includes top service entry.

Kohler Co. announced the availability of its new line of EPA-certified 180kW to 400kW natural gas- and propane-fueled industrial generators, which provide standby and prime power for a variety of industrial applications. There’s a choice of natural gas or propane single-fuel, as well as a dual-fuel option. The expanded lineup is complemented by Kohler-designed and manufactured Decision Maker controllers, as well as automatic transfer switches and switchgear. Weather-protective and sound-attenuated enclosure options (steel and aluminum) are available, as well as a full line of standard accessories, including block heaters, battery chargers, higher motor starting alternators and multiple circuit breakers.

 Quick Cable Corp., a manufacturer of products for electrical storage and connectivity, released the Rescue battery containment systems, battery racks and cabling systems. Rescue systems integrate “superior engineering with industrial-strength materials” to offer protection for stationary lead acid battery systems. Available in PVC or stainless steel, the systems are turnkey that include PVC liner, absorbent pillows and socks, rails, corners and clips.
