Adalet’s Peco flexible couplings allow the joining of equipment in hazardous locations where stationary equipment is connected to machinery that moves or vibrates. All sizes of the explosion-proof couplings are constructed from bronze braided-brass tubing with an arc-resistant liner. The couplings include two female-threaded end fittings with male nipple-inserts. They are UL listed for use in Division 1 hazardous areas and can be ordered in various lengths and conduit sizes.

Alcan’s Widestripe XHHW-2 cable is used for wiring applications in residential, commercial and industrial construction requiring phase identification. As the most recent addition to the Stabiloy family of aluminum alloy building wire products, the XHHW-2 single-phase conductor is identified with three wide colour stripes embedded within the surface of the insulation. The cable does not contain harmful components, such as lead and other heavy metals, and is manufactured to minimize adverse environmental impacts. Widestripe XHHW-2 cable also weighs half as much as copper conductors of equal ampacity, and boasts a higher maximum short-circuit temperature rating than THHN/THWN-2 insulation. Alpha Wire’s XM series control cable provides continuous-duty flexing in a PVC-jacketed cable. A new PVC formulation enables continuous flexing in strenuous applications, such as high-speed pick-and-place robotic systems, automated material handling equipment, conveyors and transfer shuttles. XM cables are available in conductor sizes from 18 AWG to 8 AWG; up to 65 conductors, oil- and sunlight-resistant XM cables have a temperature range from -5°C to 90°C. They are approved by a range of standards, including NFPA 79 for industrial machinery applications. The cables are available unshielded or with a braided shield for environments with potential EMI/RFI interference. Conductors are available in red, blue or black to accommodate various colour-coding schemes.

Appleton IEC 309 connectors promise safe and reliable portable electrical connections in commercial and light industrial environments subject to temperature extremes, vibration, impact, dirt, moisture, corrosive elements and washdowns. The pin-and-sleeve devices feature a singly rated, non-interchangeable configuration for every voltage and service, allowing plant and MRO staff to standardize electrical components—regardless of manufacturer. To enhance operator safety, the products have a positive locking feature that stops accidental withdrawal or insertion of the pin while under load, plus a colour-coding system that matches amperage and voltage requirements.
