October 8, 2015 – Yukon Minister of Economic Development Stacey Hassard and Minister of Energy, Mines and Resources Scott Kent touched down in Calgary recently to discuss innovation in the energy sector.

“Learning more about innovative energy solutions can go a long way towards enhancing Yukon’s investment climate,” Hassard said.

Hassard and Kent were joined by local business leaders and Yukon First Nations officials to visit a number of renewable and non-renewable energy facilities that are promoting innovation in energy generation.

“Access to reliable, clean and affordable energy is integral to the daily lives of Yukoners,” Kent said. “The Yukon government is taking a proactive approach by connecting with industry leaders to explore what new technological advancements may be used in Yukon to develop and manage our energy resources.”

Along with facility tours, the group took in presentations and networked with energy industry experts.
