August 31, 2015 – Chrysler has issued a recall for the Dodge 2007 Sprinter vehicles due to concerns with the airbag.

The passenger frontal airbag inflator could produce “excessive internal pressure during deployment”, the company stated. Increased pressure may cause the inflator to rupture, which could allow fragments to be propelled toward vehicle occupants, increasing the risk of injury, it added.

Dealers will replace the front passenger airbag inflator on the effected models.

The recall applies to about 4504 vehicles, according to Transport Canada.
