May 27, 2015 – Horizon Utilities Corp., which provides electricity to customers in Hamilton and St. Catharines, Ont., recently took home the Infrastructure Health & Safety Association President’s Award for reaching a safety milestone: 750,000 hours without a lost-time injury.

“Ensuring the safety of our employees, contractors and everyone in the communities we serve remains our top priority,” said Max Cananzi, president and CEO of Horizon Utilities. “This is an achievement every one of us can be proud of. This milestone in safety is a clear indication that every single one of our well-trained employees has made a personal commitment to working safely.”

Horizon Utilities said its commitment to safety is further strengthened through the implementation of the health and safety management system, Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Z1000.
