Appleton upgrades PowerPlex panelboard with bus bar system
April 10, 2012 - After three years on the market, Appleton has upgraded its PowerPlex panelboard to include an integral bus bar system which customers can order to replace the standard hard-wired system. Rated at 100 Amp, Appleton claims the new bus bar system results in greater wiring space and doesn't require rewiring if the branch circuit ampacity increases. Suitable for use on lighting, heat trace and power circuits, the PowerPlex is engineered for Class I Zone 1 and Class I Division 2 environments like those found in petrochemical and chemical plants, waste treatment centres.

Appleton releases FNES LED series of self-contained emergency luminaires
February 28, 2012 - Appleton is now offering the FNES LED series of self-contained emergency luminaries complete with self-test system and rated for hazardous industrial environments. The FNES is equipped with six white LEDs that produce 540 lumens for space lighting applications; for escape route lighting, six white LEDs produce 55 lumens. There are four standard configurations available: un-switched, switched, addressable and un-switched, addressable and switched.

Appleton unveils energy-saving Areamaster LED luminaire
February 24, 2012 - Appleton says it has reinvented the floodlight category with the Areamaster LED luminaire by offering the industry's highest lumens-per-watt output, superior colour rendering, and a service life of more than 60,000 hours. The fixture is rated at 127 watts, and delivers 13,000+ lumens of cool white light in a 131 degree (horizontal) x 134 degree (vertical) beam spread. According to the company, the highly directional light doesn't require the use of external optics, resulting in system efficiencies as high as 80%.

Appleton FSQC interlocked receptacle
February 3, 2012 - Appleton's expanded Powertite line of plugs, connectors and receptacles features the new FSQC interlocked receptacle for refineries, chemical plants, water treatment facilities, and pharmaceutical production, among other sites. According to the company, the compact footprint of the unit is suitable for applications where space is restricted and is ideal as a drop-in replacement for existing competitor FSQC receptacles. The receptacle comes with a durable epoxy powder coat finish to provide superior corrosion resistance, it adds.

Appleton unveils TMC2 and TMC2X cable glands
December 19, 2011 - Appleton says its new TMC2 and TMC2X cable glands provide a better, faster and more cost-efficient way to connect jacketed metal clad cables. According to Appleton, the cable glands are securely terminate interlocked /corrugated aluminum or steel armour jacketed metal clad cables (Type MC/MCHL), and continuous welded armour cables (Type CLX or TECK) to form mechanical watertight connections, while also providing excellent ground continuity for cable armour.
