May 3, 2012 - Some 700 delegates from across the country will gather in London, Ont., May 14-15, for CanSIA’s Solar Ontario 2012 Conference & Tradeshow, and EBMag will be there! Industry experts can connect with government officials and decision-makers to understand the implications of the new Ontario FIT Program and explore opportunities for Canada’s growing solar industry in Ontario.
April 27, 2012 - Aecon Group Inc.’s wholly owned subsidiary, Miwel Construction Ltd., has been awarded a contract by Northland Power to construct six 10-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) generation projects in Ontario.
April 25, 2012 - JCM Capital has launched a $10-million solar development capital fund that will invest in early-stage photovoltaic (PV) projects installed on large commercial and industrial buildings across Ontario, leveraging the province’s Feed-in-Tariff (FIT) program.
April 17, 2012 - Today, Canadian Solar Inc. and SkyPower Ltd. entered into a purchase and international joint venture agreement, which creates a team “comprising one of the world’s largest solar companies and Canada’s largest owner and developer of solar projects” to build and deploy solar energy solutions in Ontario, and jointly develop solar projects internationally in “select emerging markets”.
April 5, 2012 - Talk about some honest discussions. EBMag's associate editor Alyssa Dalton was in Toronto this week tweeting live from the third annual Ontario Feed-In Tariff Forum. Running from April 3-4, the extremely timely event brought together FIT contract holders, developers, manufacturers, suppliers and government to discuss the state of the renewable energy sector approximately two weeks after FIT 2.0 was released. While some individuals were more optimistic than others, the overwhelming consensus noted the need for increased communication, transparency and a united industry voice.
