July 13, 2012 - Yesterday, on behalf of the SkyPower Group of Companies, Gilbert’s LLP and Lenczner Slaght Royce Smith Griffin LLP issued an Application for Judicial Review in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice against the minister of energy and the Ontario Power Authority (OPA). SkyPower also notified the minister and OPA of a claim for damages in excess of $100 million.
July 12, 2012 - Ontario Power Authority (OPA) is advising stakeholders that the final microFIT Program Rules, Contract and other documents are now been posted on the microFIT website.
July 11, 2012 - In a letter today to Canadian solar energy stakeholders, CanSIA president John Gorman (photo) says the Ontario minister of energy has issued a directive to Ontario Power Authority (OPA) to finalize the rules and contracts for the FIT 2.0 and microFIT 2.0 programs.
July 11, 2012 - The Ontario Waterpower Association (OWA) says it is pleased to announce the release of “Best Management Practices Guide for the Mitigation of Impacts of Waterpower Facility Construction”, saying this resource document—authored by Genivar Inc. and Natural Resource Solutions Inc.—”is another example of the collaboration between industry and the federal and provincial governments”.
July 10, 2012 - Trina Solar Ltd., a manufacturer of solar photovoltaic (PV) products from ingots to modules, announced a new Ontario sales and business development office, as well as a partnership with Silfab Ontario, enabling Trina to offer modules that are locally manufactured for the Canadian market.
June 26, 2012 - Carmanah Technologies is once again working with PowerStream– this time to provide and install a 300kW solar photovoltaic (PV) system for a community centre in Markham, Ont. The $1.3 million project began installation in May and has a target completion date for July 2012.
May 30, 2012 - Blackstone Energy Solutions has announced an expanded feature set to its non-recourse debt facility for rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in Ontario. The expanded features intend to address the needs of the marketplace, namely, challenges faced by existing contract holders in getting projects built due to funding issues and/or building integrity issues, said the company.

April 27, 2012 - Aecon Group Inc.’s wholly owned subsidiary, Miwel Construction Ltd., has been awarded a contract by Northland Power to construct six 10-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) generation projects in Ontario.
April 25, 2012 - JCM Capital has launched a $10-million solar development capital fund that will invest in early-stage photovoltaic (PV) projects installed on large commercial and industrial buildings across Ontario, leveraging the province’s Feed-in-Tariff (FIT) program.
