Canada recognized at 30th annual GE Edison Awards competition
April 30, 2013 - Canada scooped up three awards at this year’s GE Edison Awards competition, an international contest to lighting professionals who demonstrate creative and significant use of GE light sources (lamps and/or LEDs) in a lighting design project completed during the previous year.

GE and Cooledge Lighting team up to develop LED light sheets
April 26, 2013 - GE Lighting has entered a joint-development agreement with Cooledge Lighting to develop a customized GE Lightech LED power-supply driver in Cooledge’s full range of LED light sheet solutions, which debuted this week at LightFair International 2013. The agreement extends beyond the LED driver integration to include the development of high performance LED phosphors and LED solutions targeting commercial applications, including signage applications. Cooledge says its flexible LED light sheets are engineered to provide high-quality lighting utilizing a highly dense pattern of LEDs on a thin plastic substrate.

GE Lighting celebrates 100 Years of innovation at Nela Park HQ
April 18, 2013 - To celebrate GE Lighting’s 100 years at its headquarters—Nela Park in East Cleveland, Ohio—the GE Foundation has donated $500,000 to two Northeast Ohio non-profit health centres. In addition, the Nela Park centennial celebration offered more than 100 guests and hundreds of Nela Park employees the opportunity to reflect on the history of the nation’s first industrial park.

GE debuts GE Energy Smart 27W LED bulb
October 2, 2012 - GE Lighting has introduced the GE Energy Smart 27W LED bulb, delivering 1,600+ lumens, 3000ºK colour temperature and 25,000-hour rated life. Featuring the standard A-19 bulb shape, the incandescent replacement bulb boasts of smooth dimming, instant full brightness and 60+ lumens per watt. The bulb also features a synthetic jet– a method to move air to cool LEDs using an oscillating membrane, which fits within the envelope of the A-19 bulb shape.
