June 1, 2013 - Georgian College students and faculty will initiate research on power use, quality, consumption and costing for electric vehicles (EVs) thanks to a “first-of-its-kind” charging station supported by PowerStream and Ford Motor Company of Canada.
April 19, 2013 - PowerStream and Georgian College say they are collaborating to better understand electric vehicles (EVs) and their charging demands. A new applied research initiative will be conducted by means of a charging station, complemented by solar power, at the college’s Barrie Campus.
December 17, 2012 - Ontario’s Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) presented Georgian College with an award for improving electrical safety through participation in its Continuous Safety Services (CSS) Program, which allows the college to perform daily maintenance and projects without having to apply for individual permits.
January 24, 2012 - Yesterday, Hydro One said it will invest in Ontario college engineering students with a $3-million commitment to “educating and training its future workforce”. With up to 30% Hydro One’s workforce eligible to retire in the next five years, promoting careers in the utility sector, says Hydro One, is a timely initiative.
