February 1, 2012 - Light Efficient Design has introduced the new LED-8025 Garage/Utility bulb, meant to replace existing high intensity discharge (HID) or high pressure sodium (HPS) bulbs. According to the company, by switching to the LED-8025, users can save: energy costs – the 52W bulb replaces up to 175W metal halide bulb; maintenance costs – each bulb has an estimated 50,000 hour life; overall retrofit project costs – replace existing bulbs, rather than more costly LED replacement fixtures. The bulb includes an active cooling feature comprised of a Delta 70,000 hour fan.

November 23, 2011 - LED Roadway Lighting (LRL) Ltd. has acquired the intellectual property and “certain other assets” of Streetlight Intelligence Inc. of Victoria, B.C. With this acquisition, Roadway says it has become the first company in Canada to combine “energy-efficient HPS and LED streetlighting with smart wireless technology”.
