May 16, 2013 - Megger says its new KC series of test leads are long enough to be used for assessing the continuity of lightning protection conductors in wind turbine blades. Developed and designed in conjunction with wind turbine manufacturers, the KC series is the first commercially available product of its kind to have been specifically designed for wind turbine applications, boasts Megger. The leads promise accurate results and eliminate the time-consuming, inconvenient and unreliable process of engineers and technicians fabricating their own test leads, adds Megger. Available in three lengths (328 ft, 164 ft and 98 ft), the KC series can be used onsite or in a manufacturing plant; each lead comes standard on a heavy-duty cable reel that is fitted with a friction brake to avoid tangles when reeling out the cable.
July 17, 2012 - Telvent, a real-time IT solutions and information provider, has been selected by Gamesa, a global technology player in wind energy, to provide lightning safety technology for its wind power plants in the United States.
March 14, 2012 - Using an experimental apparatus reminiscent of a classic horror movie, French researchers have coaxed laboratory-generated lightning into striking the same place... not just twice, but repeatedly.
December 6, 2011 - The Work Truck Show 2012 will once again max out available space at the Indiana Convention Center to provide show attendees with access to 21 environmentally friendly vehicles during the Green Truck Ride-and-Drive. Equipment demonstrations of electric PTOs and similar technologies also will take place in a stationary display area adjacent to the outdoor Ride-and-Drive course. And, like last year, EBMag will be there... and we’d love to see you there, too!
