February 21, 2012 - The Canadian Electricity Association (CEA) has appointed Jim Burpee as president and CEO, effective immediately. The appointment follows the resignation of Pierre Guimond after approximately four years in the role.

January 19, 2012 - Half of the Niagara Tunnel is now fully lined with concrete—a "significant construction milestone" in the ongoing Niagara Tunnel Project, according to the Ontario government. When it is finished, the concrete lining will ensure the efficient and uninterrupted flow of Niagara River water through the 10.2 km tunnel to the Sir Adam Beck generating stations for the next 100 years, it said.
