April 19, 2013 - PowerStream and Georgian College say they are collaborating to better understand electric vehicles (EVs) and their charging demands. A new applied research initiative will be conducted by means of a charging station, complemented by solar power, at the college’s Barrie Campus.

December 5, 2012 - PowerStream has announced its annual charity golf tournament, held this September at the Nottawasaga Inn Resort in Alliston, Ont., raised the largest total amount in the five-year history of the tournament being a charity event. It netted more than $90,000 for the company’s 2012 fundraising campaign in support of the United Way of York Region and the United Way of Greater Simcoe County.

November 1, 2012 - EBMag has learned PowerStream will be sending four, three-man crews in four bucket trucks and three pick-up trucks to Connecticut to assist Hartford-based Northeast Utilities in restoring power to customers who have been without electricity since October 29, when Hurricane Sandy swept across regions of Canada and the U.S.
