Siemon 1U Z-Max angled version patch panels

22 January 2010

Siemon launched an angled version of its Z-Max modular patch panel. Designed to support both the shielded and UTP versions of Siemon’s 10 Gb/s Z-Max 6A network cabling solution, says the company, these new panels meet or exceed all 10GBase-T and Cat 6A/class EA performance requirements. In addition, the UTP angled Z-Max panels can be used with Cat 6 UTP Z-Max panel outlets and pre-terminated trunking assemblies. Available in 48-port 1U and 24-port 1U versions, the angled configuration allows patch cords to be routed directly into vertical cable managers, eliminating the need for additional horizontal cable managers.

The company says it offers several smart solutions for moving heavy payloads in construction - from platform trucks and utility carts, to the patent pending convertible A-frame and convertible platform trucks. Special attention was paid the base of the carts by testing and selecting the optimal caster options for each product. Rubbermaid boasts that its Duramold technology offers the highest strength-to-weight ratio when compared to metal, wood and solid plastic decks and has been tested to hold and transport up to 2,500 pounds of weigh load capacity. The line includes the convertible A-frame, convertible platform, heavy duty platform, sheet & panel, A-frame panel, work height platform,  fifth wheel wagon and  stanchion platform trucks,  as well as semi-live skids and heavy-duty utility carts.

Corning Cable Systems expands its Plug & Play AnyLAN systems with a ruggedized zone enclosure, integrated single-panel and integrated 1U housing. The ruggedized zone enclosure combines the AnyLAN OptiTip adapter with an environmentally-sealed closure that eliminates the need for field-terminated fiber optic cables. The company says that the 12- or 24-fiber AnyLAN integrated single-panel and integrated 1U housings use OptiTip adapters in the units for increased ease-of-deployment, without the need for field termination and cable strain relief. In addition to the hardware and closure innovations, the distribution trunk for plug & play AnyLAN systems is now available in a tray-rated Industrial LSZH cable option.

b_200_0_16777215_0___images_stories_WebNews2009_CableRackMgmt_cooper_bline_sb708_swing_wall_racks.jpgCooper B-Line has added to its line of swing-gate wall-mounted equipment racks. The SB708 is designed to support 19-in. or 23-in. networking equipment, including switches, patch panels and equipment shelves. It features a load rating of 150 lb and, thanks to a single-piece back requiring no levelling, can be completed by a single installer. The rack’s aluminum door (fully removable) hinges right and left, and opens 130º to both sides, providing convenient access to the back of the mounted equipment. The UL-listed SB708 rack is available in various sizes, and mounting hole-compliant to EIA/ECA-310-E. The product is packaged and shipped unassembled in protective material, and is available in flat black (FB), telco gray (TG) and silver (SL) finishes.

Optelian says its new tunable XFPs feature the narrow spectral width and wavelength stability required for 80-channel DWDM systems. Tunability has two benefits, says the company: it supports dynamic reconfigurability and saves inventory cost. Having these features in an XFP format means that existing muxponder, regenerator and transponder cards can be used in reconfigurable, high-capacity optical networks. Tunable XFPs have comparable performance and reach as fixed DWDM XFPs, Optelian asserts. Optelian’s tunable XFP is fully compatible with all LightGAIN and LightMUX active modules, as well as third-party equipment.

Optelian, a designer and manufacturer of optical transport systems, says its LightGAIN optical networking platform now has 80-channel DWDM capacity. This capacity is supported using 50 GHz-spaced 80-channel multiplexers, two- and four-degree ROADMs, optical channel monitors, higher-powered optical fiber amplifiers, high linearity fiber Bragg grating dispersion compensation modules and tunable DWDM transponders. LightGAIN’s modularity allows network operators to start with a 40-channel system, says Optelian, then grow to 80 channels by simply adding another 40-channel multiplexer, without disrupting traffic on existing channels. This new system “will benefit long-haul and metro network operators who anticipate high growth in their networks”.

b_200_0_16777215_0___images_stories_WebNews2011_radiodetection_rd7000lr.jpg Radiodetection has launched a new range of precision locators, RD7000+, to replace the RD7000 range of utility specific locators it unveiled more than two years ago. It claims that these new products that replace them focus on core user requirements by incorporating Dynamic Overload Protection to improve locate performance in electrically noisy areas and Compass, which determines and displays the orientation of the target cable or pipe, simplifying route determination and helping to improve depth measurement accuracy. The RD7000+ range consists of 4 locators, each tailored for the construction industry, pipe location and inspection, power applications and the telecoms industry. All RD7000+ units are Centros enabled.
