May 16, 2012 - SaskPower is expanding its energy-efficiency programs to help large commercial and industrial customers reduce electricity use and upgrade lighting.

On May 9 and 10, all Saskatchewan residents can visit any of SaskPower’s customer service offices across the province—including head office in Regina—from 8 am to 4:30 pm for a free saskatoon bush seedling.
April 17, 2012 - SaskPower is launching a new program that will provide term employment positions to four graduates of Sandy Bay’s Hector Thiboutot Community School each year. The new grads will work at SaskPower’s nearby Island Falls Hydroelectric Station, located two kilometres upriver of Sandy Bay on the Churchill River, near the Saskatchewan-Manitoba border.
April 8, 2012 - For a fourth year, SaskPower is once again offering customers discounts on energy efficient lighting – but only for a limited time.
March 24, 2012 - To meet the growing need for electricity in central Saskatchewan, SaskPower is proposing to construct three power lines to be in service by the end of 2013. The estimated cost to complete all three projects is $105 million.
February 29, 2012 - SaskPower has signed an agreement with Windlectric Inc. (a subsidiary of Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp.) to build an approximately 177MW wind power facility near Chaplin, Sask.
January 19, 2012 - Yesterday, Saskatchewan set a new record for electricity use: a total of 3265 MW were used at 6:37 pm. The previous consumption record of 3231 MW was set December 14, 2009.
UPDATED November 30, 2011 (originally posted November 26, 2011) - SaskPower is working with participating retailers across the province to give away vehicle block heater timers and encourage energy conservation this winter.
