January 31, 2013 - SaskPower has selected Valard Construction, a Quanta Services company, to install transmission infrastructure for the Island Falls to Key Lake Transmission Line Project, where it will build about 300km of 230-kV transmission line in northern Saskatchewan.

SaskPower to increase rates to maintain electrical reliability
July 10, 2012 - SaskPower has submitted an application to the Saskatchewan Rate Review Panel for a 4.9% rate increase, effective January 1, 2013, saying the increase is needed to fund investments in the province’s electrical system to keep up with a “growing economy and maintain electrical reliability”.

SaskPower delivers employment positions to Sandy Bay youth
April 17, 2012 - SaskPower is launching a new program that will provide term employment positions to four graduates of Sandy Bay’s Hector Thiboutot Community School each year. The new grads will work at SaskPower’s nearby Island Falls Hydroelectric Station, located two kilometres upriver of Sandy Bay on the Churchill River, near the Saskatchewan-Manitoba border.
