ABB completes Thomas & Betts acquisition
May 16, 2012 - ABB Ltd. has completed its acquisition of Thomas & Betts Corp., thereby advancing the ABB’s strategy of expanding its Low-Voltage Products division into new geographies, sectors and products. ABB says the complementary combination of T&B’s electrical components and ABB’s low-voltage protection, control and measurement products will create a broader low-voltage offering.

Thomas & Betts shareholders approve ABB acquisition
May 2, 2012 - Thomas & Betts shareholders have voted to approve the merger agreement pursuant to ABB acquiring Thomas & Betts for $72 per share in cash. Of the shares voted at today’s special meeting, 99% were voted in favour of the approval of the merger agreement, which represents about 75% of Thomas & Betts’ total outstanding shares of common stock as of the recorded date for the meeting.

Thomas & Betts shareholders to vote on ABB acquisition
April 4, 2012 - Thomas & Betts has scheduled a special meeting of its shareholders for May 2, 2012, where they will vote on the approval of the merger agreement pursuant to which ABB will acquire Thomas & Betts for $72 per share in cash. Thomas & Betts has filed a definitive proxy statement with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission relating to the special meeting.

January 30, 2012 - ABB, a global power and automation technology group, and Thomas & Betts Corp., a North American player in low-voltage products, announced today that both companies’ boards of directors have agreed to a transaction in which ABB will acquire Thomas & Betts for $72 per share in cash, or about $3.9 billion.
