February 9, 2012 - Going to the BICSI Winter Conference and Exhibition next week in Orlando, Fla.? NETcomm will be there, and so will 3M's new Crimplok+ Connector, which the company claims can save time and money on enterprise and fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network installations without sacrificing signal performance or reliability. The product will be on display at the 3M booth, giving attendees the chance to try out the connector for themselves. According to 3M, the Crimplok+ Connector is the first-known commercially available FTTx field-mounted connector for 900 µm singlemode fiber that meets indoor and outdoor performance requirements without a splice, gel or adhesive.

February 3, 2012 - Appleton's expanded Powertite line of plugs, connectors and receptacles features the new FSQC interlocked receptacle for refineries, chemical plants, water treatment facilities, and pharmaceutical production, among other sites. According to the company, the compact footprint of the unit is suitable for applications where space is restricted and is ideal as a drop-in replacement for existing competitor FSQC receptacles. The receptacle comes with a durable epoxy powder coat finish to provide superior corrosion resistance, it adds.

November 30, 2011 - Burndy, a manufacturer and provider of connector solutions, has added to its Unitap family of connectors. According to the company, the BIBS-DB connectors provide a convenient way to join multiple conductors in direct burial applications, and are range taking and easy to install. The connectors are made from 6061-T6 aluminum alloy and rubber-insulated, and may be used for any applications requiring a watertight or below-grade application, adds the company.
