February 8, 2012 - Acuity Brands has expanded its LED outdoor lighting portfolio with the D-Series Size 1 LED area luminaire by Lithonia Lighting. When installed as a replacement for 100-400W metal halide luminaires, the product delivers approximately 65% energy savings and an expected service life of up to 100,000 hours or more, says the company. It is finished with a zinc-infused powder coat paint to help protect against corrosion and weathering.

According to the company, the hot dip galvanized process produces a much thicker, durable coating which prevents corrosion of the protected product and results in a reduced need for replacement or general maintenance.

December 22, 2011 - Ideal has introduced its Quick Change screwdriver 35-933 with the Sure-Loc Quick Change chuck, which eliminates magnetic debris pick-up and dropped bits, it says. The screwdriver features a E-Z Spin high torque cap, and a flip cap that accesses a built-in bit storage cavity which holds up to five extra Insert bits. The driver shaft is coated in black oxide for corrosion resistance and heat-treated for strength.
