These devices within the Devine and Skye product lines are compatible with LED and fluorescent 0-10V ballasts, and can be wired in single-pole or three-way applications. Users can choose between a preset feature to quickly return lights to a previously desired setting or an adjustable full-slide dimming range. The Devine product line of new dimmers also offers a changeable face plate and is packaged with three colours. The 0-10V dimmers are listed by UL for use in Canada and the United States to UL1472 file no. E47967.
June 3, 2013 - Control4 has introduced the Control4 wired keypads along with the availability of its new Control4 panelized lighting solution, designed to provide one-touch control of lighting, security, HVAC and entertainment. Supporting 110V-277V applications, the Control4 panelized lighting solution is suitable for both residential installations and commercial environments. Dealers have the ability to pop in keycaps to create multi-button keypads of varying configurations to personalize the functionality and design that best aligns with their customers’ needs. The new 8-channel, Control4 Adaptive Phase Dimmer module includes automatic phase control technology to support: dimmable LED, CFL, fluorescent, incandescent, halogen and low voltage.
May 27, 2013 - Shat-R-Shield has announced the new safety-coated, shatter‐resistant T8 fluorescent lamps, boasting up to 75,000 hours life on instant start ballasts and 84,000 hours life on programmed rapid start ballasts. Offered in 28W and 32W, the T8 lamps are dimmable, RoHS compliant and feature a colour rending index (CRI) of 85. According to the company, the lamps offer up to two times long life, providing an additional eight years of maintenance free lighting for typical operating cycles.
April 16, 2013 - The rise of LED technology is affecting every part of the commercial lighting industry, says Navigant Research, as falling prices and improved quality drive widespread adoption.
April 12, 2013 - UL is warning the public about a fluorescent luminaire manufactured in March 2008 bearing a counterfeit UL Mark for Canada and the United States.
April 10, 2013 - Appleton says its new ATX FE series of nonmetallic fluorescent luminaries, available in both standard and battery back-up models, feature a cover and housing designed to resist high winds and shock in extreme onshore and offshore environments. For operations at the other end of the climate spectrum, the 55C ambient temperature rating and UV tolerance makes the ATX FE series suitable for use in the heat, sand and bright sun, adds Appleton. The fixtures are designed with an unbreakable rack-and-pinion mechanism that can be unlocked with a single Allen wrench or flat screwdriver, while preventing the luminaire from being energized unless the cover is properly closed and locked. An IP2X terminal shield cover allows an electrician to work on the ballast even with mains power present, and the terminal block is designed for easy wiring, it says.
March 15, 2013 - Cree has announced the new AR series LED architectural troffer, delivering 100 lumens per watt ideal for corporate office, up-market retail, higher education and automotive applications. The troffer claims to provide 33% energy savings versus standard T8 fluorescent solutions and low maintenance costs with its designed lifetime of up to 75,000 hours. Users can choose between two available models: the AR22 troffer and AR24 troffer, and a range of colour temperatures to match existing fluorescent technologies (3500K and 4000K). The AR series supports dimming down to 5% with 0-10V controls. Lutron EcoSystem-enabled AR series troffers supporting dimming down to 5% are targeted to be available in mid-2013, says Cree.
