January 30, 2013 - British Columbia has announced a $1.3-million investment in direct current (DC) fast-charging infrastructure in 13 communities throughout the province to help electric vehicle (EV) owners plug in and get charged. Environment minister Terry Lake made this announcement in unveiling the future location of Vancouver’s first DC fast-charging station at Telus World of Science.

February 13, 2012 - Generac Power Systems Inc., a manufacturer of backup power generation equipment, will commit $5-6 million to expanding and remodeling its Waukesha, Wisc., headquarters and an additional $3-4 million in upgrades to create a technical centre. The $8-10 million total investment will result in more jobs, more innovation and more technology for Generac, the manufacturing sector and the state of Wisconsin, it explained.

November 22, 2011 - Cree Inc.’s Ruud Lighting subsidiary, based in Racine, Wisc., held a groundbreaking ceremony last week to highlight a 208,000-sf. expansion to its manufacturing facility. The company's $24.5 million investment will focus on manufacturing and assembly of LED lighting and is expected to create 469 new full-time jobs over the next four years, it explained.
