March 15, 2013 - Cooper Lighting’s new Sure-Lites PathLinx LED emergency lighting line features indoor and outdoor single- and double-head remote choices for egress lighting in commercial spaces. Boasting to reduce egress lighting costs, the line offers expanded remote capability, spacings up to 50% between fixtures, and Sure-Lites’ EZ Solutions including EZ Click Ethernet connection, EZ Key power disconnect, and EZ Hang installation, says Cooper Lighting. According to company, when comparing a dual-head LED remote emergency light versus a standard dual-head emergency light with a battery pack, users could save up to 60% less for the remote. The system indicates the status of the emergency light at all times using the LED indicator. The PathLinx units systematically calibrates itself in the field and meet the UL924 standards for egress lighting.

February 21, 2013 - Lumenpulse’s entire indoor and outdoor LED product lines will soon be embedded with Lutron Electronics’ EcoSystem technology. EcoSystem is a lighting control system comprised of digitally addressable dimming ballasts and LED drivers, controls, and environmental sensors, which boasts energy savings from 40% to 70%. Under the new agreement, the EcoSystem solution can, for the first time, be applied to both indoor and outdoor lighting.

January 23, 2013 - Cree has expanded its XSP series LED street light portfolio with the new XSP2L LED street light, which claims to increase lumen output over 35% compared to the original XSP luminaire. According to Cree, the XSP2L LED is the ideal replacement for outdated high pressure sodium (HPS) and metal halide fixtures up to 400W.

January 23, 2013 - HessAmerica’s new Tensso pole-mounted luminaire for street lighting is scaled for 20-ft. and 26-ft. pole heights. Tensso employs up to five Levo LED modules with power consumption of 130W when using the maximum quantity, with modules comprised of an aluminum core circuit board with 14 LEDs. The LEDs may be specified with 3000K, 4000K or 5600K colour temperatures, with a CRI of 75.

January 9, 2013 - Switch Lighting is now offering its liquid-cooled LED A-lamps that can be used in any fixture, any orientation indoors and out, it claims. In addition to its 40W, 60W, 75W, and 100W-equivalent lamps, Switch has designed the Switch3-Way, a 25W, 50W, 75W-equivalent LED incandescent replacement A-Lamp for use in three way fixtures. According to the company, the Switch100 is the first true 100W-equivalent A-lamp with a 1600 lumen output and radial flux equal to incandescents on the market. The lamp offers a colour temperature of 4000K.

January 8, 2013 - Venture Lighting’s new RIO system (Retrofit Integrated Optics) boasts up to 120 lumens per watt, a rated lamp life of up to 30,000, and 95% optical efficiency. According to the company, the system also offers a total energy savings of almost 50%. By repurposing existing fixtures, the waste, time, cost and labour at each job are all greatly reduced, adds Venture.

January 7, 2013 - The McGraw-Edison Galleon LED luminaire is the newest addition to Cooper Lighting’s line of outdoor lighting products. The luminaire offers a choice of 12 optical distributions, nine lumen packages, and comes standard with various specification grade design features. The Light Squares are also field-adjustable to reorient the distribution in 90º-increments. With efficiencies up to 95%, it provides 30-75% energy savings when compared to typical HID (high-intensity discharge) luminaires, says Cooper, and is suited for new construction and retrofit projects.

January 7, 2013 - Lithonia Lighting has introduced three LED luminaire options for outdoor lighting—the OLLW wall light, OLVT luminaire and OLS step light for commercial and residential lighting applications. The OLLW series LED wall light is designed to withstand harsh weather conditions and features various configurations to deliver either “up and down” lighting and/or “up or down” lighting for outdoor lighting applications. The OLVT series LED vapour tight luminaire uses a frosted glass globe to help protect the LEDs against dust, moisture and larger objects. The OLS series LED step light is available in white or bronze and round or square shape styles.

December 31, 2012 - HessAmerica has introduced Cento LED landscape, pathway and site-light bollards, columns, and surface-mounted luminaires, with 180º- and 360º-accent illumination. Units are available as a surface-mounted luminaire for wall-top installations, and as a bollard in heights of 11-in., 20-in., and 36-in., respectively. The luminaires are available in warm or neutral colour temperatures, with an 80+ CRI, and power consumption ranging from 16W-26W.

December 27, 2012 - The new Novara OV LED luminaire from HessAmerica is suited for pole and catenary-suspended applications, with the pole mounted model available in single- or twin-lighthead configurations on 15-ft. or 20-ft. round straight steel or aluminum poles. Steel pole are hot-dip galvanized prior to painting. The luminaire consumes 52 watts and LED sources are available in a choice of warm, neutral, and cool white colour temperatures of 3000K, 4000K, and 5700K.
