March 25, 2013 - Schneider Electric Solar Business has launched various for solutions for residential, small commercial and off-grid solar and backup power. The Conext RL is a residential single-phase transformerless solar inverter available in 3kW, 4kW and 5kW power ratings, which boasts peak conversion efficiency of 97.5%. The expanded Conext TL line of inverters now offers 8kW, 108kW, 158kW and 20kW models. The transformerless grid-tie solar inverter is designed for commercial buildings, carports and decentralized power plants up to the MW range. The Conext Monitor 20 is a remote monitoring and control solution for small photovoltaic (PV) plants up to 20kW, allowing PV owners to monitor the operating performance of the inverter using a web portal. The Conext Designer is a PV system design tool where installers can select Conext range of inverters and panels and roof orientation help build designs aimed at maximizing energy harvest. The Conext SW inverter/charger is available in 2.5kW and 4 kW power ratings, and is a pure sine wave, inverter/charger system with switchable 50/60 Hz functionality available for both 120/240VAC or 230VAC models. Meanwhile, the Conext XW inverter/charger is available in 4kW, 4.5kW and 6kW power ratings. Operators of Conext XW and SW systems can remotely monitor yield performance using devices of their choice, such as personal computers, tablet devices, or building management systems using the new Conext ComBox communication device. Installers can change the settings of Conext devices during commissioning and react 24/7 to system alerts remotely.
March 22, 2013 - WattStopper claims its new modular panel provides electrical contractors with cost-effective code-compliant lighting control for a wide variety of small projects. The LC8 panel accommodates up to four relay modules, with any combination of two different types of module. Choices include a dual single-pole 120/277 VAC relay module and a single double-pole 208/240/480 VAC relay module. Each panel is equipped with a system clock and touch screen interface for simple scheduled control, including astronomic control options. Accessories include an exterior photocell and a new line of low-profile decorator style switches for manual control. WattStopper describes the panel as a price leader in its category and because its modular design, facilitates quick and easy configuration for many applications.
February 14, 2013 - ProQuip International and Solarize Energy recently celebrated the official opening of the 675kW AC solar energy project on the cattle barns of Van Osch Farms Ltd. in Crediton, Ont.
September 30, 2012 - SolarWorld has introduced its 270W mono-crystalline Sunmodule solar panel, claiming to be among the first manufacturers to bring 60-cell solar panels to market at this power density. The panels accommodate both top-down and bottom-up mounting, eight possible grounding locations and extended cable lengths for easier installation.

Schletter PVMax solar mounting system

January 24, 2012 - Schletter boasts that its PVMax solar mounting system offers robust performance in nearly any terrain environment, adding that it particularly shines when: in small and medium-sized PV plants; soil is too soft or too rocky for pile driving; in landfill sites where surface cannot be penetrated; and pile driven posts are not possible. According to Schletter, the latest generation of the PVMax uses a minimal amount of drilled connections, while maximizing spans between foundations.

November 30, 2011 - Eclipsall, an Ontario maker of photovoltaic (PV) solar panels, is now integrating selective emitter technology into its manufacturing process. According to the company, selective emitter technology has been proven to be more effective in lower light conditions like those in Ontario by enhancing solar cell performance with more efficient control of the phosphorous concentration that increases the area of each solar cell for electricity generation. This, in turn, helps reduce the cost of production and improve solar developers' returns, it adds.
