May 10, 2012 - A recent study by ABI Research notes that wireless equipment vendors performed well in the fourth quarter of 2011. While finishing strong in the last quarter of every calendar year is typical for vendors in this market, Huawei exceeded expectations and overcame Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) to grab second place in the market, continued the study. Ericsson came out on top as the market leader, with approximately US$3.5 billion in wireless network equipment sales during 4Q2011.
March 14, 2012 - A group of scientists led by researchers from the University of Rochester and North Carolina State University have, for the first time, sent a message using a beam of neutrinos—nearly-massless particles that travel at almost the speed of light. The message was sent through 240 metres of stone and said simply, “Neutrino”.

According to the company, the BMP51 is the perfect printer for users who need to make labels on the go. It also offers a built-in Brady Network Card with Bluetooth technology and optional Wi-Fi card, which when combined with Brady’s new mobile Apps, allow users to design and print labels wirelessly using their Android smartphone.

February 10, 2012 - Belkin has unveiled its wireless networking solution for "maximum speed, range and performance", the Advance N900 DB Wireless Dual-Band N+ router. Featuring Belkin MultiBeam technology, the N900 claims to create a robust, blazing-fast network that supports an entire household of Wi-Fi devices and media-intensive activities, like online gaming and 3D video streaming. The N900 delivers maximum data speeds on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands simultaneously, and debuted at 2012 International CES (Consumer Electronics Show) last month in Las Vegas, Nev.

February 3, 2012 - Steinel's new RHB 300 wireless occupancy sensor uses passive infrared technology to sense occupancy in high bay installations. The sensor mounts directly to a high bay fixture, and can perform at mounting heights as high as 45 feet. Three pyroelectric sensors are used in the product to provide 360º coverage. The company stresses that by achieving the right coverage, users can maximize energy savings by monitoring locations with fewer sensors, while still achieving proper detection.

January 20, 2012 - Fluke Networks has announced that its AirMagnet wireless planning technology has been chosen by D-Link Corp. to power its new Wi-Fi planning solution—the D-Link Wi-Fi Planner. IT managers and engineers deploying D-Link-based wireless infrastructure will now be able to leverage the industry’s leading wireless LAN (WLAN) planning software, specifically optimized for their wireless environment, said Fluke.
January 3, 2012 - Prince Edward Island residents can now access free wireless Internet in all public library branches as part of the provincial government’s commitment to enhancing library services and improving access to technology in rural areas, said tourism and culture minister Robert Henderson.
December 16, 2011 - Light control manufacturer, Lutron Electronics claims its Energi TriPak product family is a simple, cost-effective energy-saving light control retrofit solution, which provides the ability to choose the components to meet specific project needs. According to Lutron, the Energi TriPak saves energy by utilizing occupancy sensing, daylight harvesting, personal control, and high-end trim, and communicates wirelessly via Lutron Clear Connect Radio Frequency (RF) technology. Radio Powr Savr occupancy/vacancy sensors are available in both ceiling-mount and wall-mount options for sensing coverage.
