August 11, 2015 – The Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) has awarded Slingshot Product Development Group a 2015 Bronze International Design Excellence Award (IDEA) for the company’s creation of the SmartSpace system for Masterack.

“We created SmartSpace as a storage system for cargo vans. It’s designed to work across a wide range of commercial vehicles including vans and pick-up truck equipment”, said Jose Gamboa, director of industrial design at Slingshot Product Development Group.

Slingshot said it designed the SmartSpace system with structural foam, aluminum and steel, so that the weight and noise level could be reduced.

Slingshot’s entry was selected out of over 1700 submissions to receive one of 83 Bronze awards. There were 20 categories for judging and the SmartSpace system received the award in the category of Commercial & Industrial Products.
