WARNING: Counterfeit UL Mark on Zimpex Protective Garments

May 20, 2015 | By Anthony Capkun

May 20, 2015 – UL has issued a warning of counterfeit UL Marks on Zimpex Protective Garments used for protection of industrial personnel against flash fire.

The Zimpex flame-resistant garments—including coveralls and vests identified in the photos—bear counterfeit UL Marks, meaning the clothing has not been evaluated by UL to the appropriate NFPA (United States) standard, NFPA 2112. It is unknown whether these garments comply with any safety requirements.

It is unknown how many units, if any, have made their way into Canada.

The units are known to have been distributed by Zimpex Inc., 309 Sonoma Vine Ct., Bakersfield, CA 93314, USA.
