September 17, 2015 – A new 802.11ac wireless access point, the DA1104 from Legrand, has been designed for the increasing bandwidth demands found in today’s connected homes.

Built for in-celling installation, the dual-band DA1104 delivers “the fastest” Wi-Fi speeds and uses Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology to provide data and power over a single Ethernet cable, the company says.

The DA1104’s dual band capabilities allow for transmitting over both the 2.4GHz and the 5GHz frequency bands, enabling single stream speeds of up to 867Mbps with up to 1.2Gbps of total streaming capacity.

Incorporating MU-MIMO (multiple user – multiple input/multiple output), the DA1104 can support multiple streams to multiple clients concurrently.

The DA1104 also employs beamforming, a directional signal transmission technique that aims the WiFi signal at its active clients.
