80 Inspect and Test Standards from PEARL now available to the public

July 28, 2010 | By

The Professional Electrical Apparatus Recyclers League (PEARL) – who create, collect and disseminate information, policies, procedures and standards – has made 80 Inspect & Test Standards available to the public for the first time.

After the PEARL technical committee finalized Revision 3 of the Inspect
& Test Standards, the PEARL board of directors approved its release
to the general public through a free download (available online). The
revision includes 6 new standards and 23 proposed standards that will
be voted on by PEARL’s board of directors this month. A new section
introduction for LV and MV fuses was also added.

PEARL Inspect and Test Standards provide “inspection, cleaning,
testing, and documentation instructions and guidelines that – when
followed by trained technicians – will provide evidence that an
electrical device is free of inherent flaws or faults,” says PEARL. It
is intended to allow users to test equipment or a certain device to be
sure there is no indication of damage at its present state.
