Hosted at the Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Hotel, the 2012 ESW is expecting between 400 and 500 delegates from around the world—”People who share a passion for preventing electrical injuries in the workplace,” adds Neitzel.
The Electrical Safety Workshop is sponsored by the IEEE Industrial Applications Society (IAS). One of the workshop’s founders, Lanny Floyd explains “19 years ago, nine people gathered in a conference room in Toronto, Canada, with a lofty goal of changing the culture of electrical safety”. Since then the workshop has served as a platform to “support breakthroughs in technology and work practices that are saving lives, and allowing workers to return home to their families. It’s really been a privilege to be associated with the event and with the people around it for all these years.”
This year’s IEEE IAS Electrical Safety Workshop will feature over 25 technical papers, seven tutorials, a product exposition featuring “cutting-edge technologies and services”, a plant tour and companion itineraries. Organizers are also planning multiple social events where attendees can network with many of the people who are influencing today’s electrical safety standards.
