Earlier this month, the LoyaltyOne Air Miles customer care centre in Mississauga, Ont., held its official grand opening, specifically showing off rooftop solar array. Some 800 photovoltaic solar panels generate 165 kW of power, making it the largest rooftop solar array in Canada, says LoyaltyOne.
A decision was also made to invest in a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) -certified building for the new site, and the team at LoyaltyOne took the plan to the next level by establishing a solar installation project that would not only generate electricity for the building, but put power back into the grid as well.
