William (Bill) Daley, president and CEO of FortisOntario, took the podium at the Ontario Energy Network’s April luncheon, where he stressed the need to open up the electricity distribution sector to private investment.
These regulations, he explained, are holding Ontario back and make it more difficult for local distribution companies (LDCs) to carry out smart grid and other technologies. Implementing neutral policies to forge more public/private electricity investment would also help empower smaller municipalities, he said. (Photos A. Dalton)
