Pacific Crest Transformers offers the SPSU photovoltaic (PV) solar converter step-up transformer that, says the company, is ideal for connecting solar farms to the electricity grid at large-scale solar power installations. Pacific’s SPSU is designed for the additional loading associated with non-sinusoidal harmonic frequencies that can be found in inverter-driven transformers. A system of multiple windings reduces costs and minimizes footprint by combining the step-up function to fewer transformers. It is designed for installation in earthquake-rated zones; meantime, coil end blocking with heavy duty 3-ga steel bracing and proprietary pressure plates contains the axial forces exerted during a fault condition.PACIFIC CREST TRANSFORMERS
