June 10, 2014 – ABB says it has agreed to be a partner in the UN Global Partnership Programme to promote international standards and accelerate the transition to energy-efficient equipment such as motors, drives and distribution transformers. Meantime, Daniel Assandri, CEO of ABB in Canada, participated as a speaker at the Sustainable Energy for All Forum (SE4ALL) at United Nations HQ in New York City.

“I am pleased to represent ABB at this important gathering and have the opportunity to highlight ABB’s commitment to energy efficiency and how our technology can mitigate environmental impact,” said Assandri.

The UN Global Partnership Programme initiative is part of the SE4ALL Forum to promote international efficiency standards during meetings held at the three-day conference on global environmental health launching the United Nations’ new Sustainable Energy for All Decade. UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon launched SE4ALL as a global initiative to mobilize action from all sectors of society on renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy access.
