September 5, 2018 — ABB recently introduced its new range of EQ A44 three-phase 690V high-functionality electricity meters, which it says satisfies the requirements of 690V motors and other applications in the same voltage range.

The EQ A44 552-110 or A44 553-110 meters can be installed without requiring additional voltage transformers, allowing for faster wiring and fewer settings, ABB says. Both models fit standard DIN Rail enclosures, and use a RS-485 or M-Bus interface to improve communication. The devices also include a range of 25 alarm functions and a pixel-oriented back light display, which shows up to four data items simultaneously.

EQ A44 is available in a range of voltages, from 57.7 to 500 or 100 to 690V phase to phase and is suitable for use in a variety of temperatures. It can be used in three or four wire installations for installing new meters or retrofitting older versions.
