May 15, 2018 — ABB recently released its EV charging solution, the Terra HP, which it says is the first 150-350 kW product on the market.

Terra HP’s ultra-high current has the capacity to charge both 400V and 800V cars at full power. The 375A output single power cabinet can charge a 400V car at 150 kW continuously. With the addition of Dynamic DC power sharing technology, a two-power cabinet charging system can charge a couple of EVs simultaneously, with up to 350 kW and 500A, while optimizing the available grid connection and the power delivery to the two vehicles, ABB says.

Additional power cabinets and charge posts can be added after installation. The company also says Terra HP delivers high uptime due to redundancy on power and communication, and individually cooled charging cables.

For charging operators, Terra HP provides ABB Ability Connected Services, which allows chargers to be connected to back offices, payment platforms or smart grids systems. Remote diagnostics, repair and over-the-air software updates are also available to minimize downtime and keep running costs low.
