ADC changes board of directors

September 15, 2008 | By Alyssa Dalton

ADC’s non-executive chair, John A. (Gus) Blanchard III, will retire from the company’s board at the end of his current term, coinciding with ADC’s 2009 annual meeting presently planned for early March 2009. Blanchard has served on the board since November 1999 and as non-executive chair since August 2003. He wishes to spend more time with family and work more with non-profit organizations during his retirement.

The
company’s board has named Robert E. Switz, its president and CEO, to
the additional role of chair effective August. Switz has been a member
of ADC’s board since August 2003.

Additionally,
ADC’s board has created the position of independent lead director and
appointed J. Kevin Gilligan to serve in this role. Gilligan has served
on the board since September 2004. As part of his responsibilities,
Gilligan will preside over executive sessions of the board and
generally lead the affairs of independent directors. At this time, all
of ADC’s directors (other than Switz) are independent and all of the
company’s board committees continue to consist solely of independent
directors.
