Adele Malo elected to Electrical Safety Authority board

July 8, 2014 – Adele Malo has been elected to the board of directors of Ontario’s Electrical Safety Authority (ESA), which is responsible for administering regulation in four key areas: Ontario Electrical Safety Code, licensing of electrical contractors and master electricians, electrical distribution safety and electrical product safety.

She most recently served as executive vice-president of government & regulatory affairs and general counsel for Direct Energy until her retirement in December 2012. Prior to that, she held senior positions with Ontario Power Generation, Union Gas and others. She began her career as an associate lawyer in the tax department of Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt. She has served on the boards of the Nuclear Waste Management Organization, Plug’n Drive and Scientists in School, among others.
