AFL Telecommunications and Noyes Fiber Systems (a division of AFL) have joined the Fiber Optics LAN Section (FOLS) of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) with a full participant membership.
FOLS is a consortium of fiber optic cable, components and electronic
manufacturers whose mission is to focus on educating end users and
consultants about the advantages that optical transmission can bring to
customer-owned networks and FTTD (fiber-to-the-desk) applications.
As a member, AFL/Noyes has a voice among its colleagues in the industry,
and says its will be more involved in section activities. In addition,
membership will provide the opportunity to participate in industry
articles and speaking engagements, as well as potentially influence
industry standards and architectures.
