AFL Telecommunications introduced three new Noyes M700 models, including a long-range Quad OTDR launched at the BICSI 2010 Winter Conference. The three new models possess increased single-mode dynamic range, says AFL, and improved dead zones. The units are: dual wavelength single-mode OTDR (1310/1550nm 40/38 dB DR); triple wavelength single-mode OTDR (1310/1550/1625nm 40/38/38 dB DR; and quad wavelength OTDR (multimode 850/1300nm 24/24 dB and single-mode 39/37 dB DR). The single-mode M700 models are suitable for testing optical fibers in metro, FTTx and long-haul networks. The long-range Quad model is suited for DOT, campus and military networks.
