March 2, 2012 – Ambient Corp., a provider of smart grid communications platforms and technologies, has appointed Jim Fisher to the position of VP, business development, the Americas.

“Jim brings extensive industry knowledge and business development expertise,” said John J. Joyce, president and CEO of Ambient. “As we look to expand our customer base and product offerings in 2012, I am confident that with the addition of Jim’s experience to our management team we are better positioned to grow our brand awareness throughout the industry.

“We are excited to have him join at this critical juncture,” he added.

Prior to joining the company, Fisher spent the last seven years with Itron in various positions, most recently as global senior director of sales/business development. Fisher brings to the role 20+ years of experience in the energy industry in different roles of management, sales and marketing with Schlumberger and Itron.

“It is a very exciting time in the energy industry as utilities are evaluating their traditional vertical networks and looking towards integrated and unified smart grid applications,” said Fisher. “Ambient is well positioned with its communications platform for promoting a smarter grid. I am looking forward to contributing to one of the primary goals for 2012 – expansion of the company’s customer base.”
