American Dynamics, part of Tyco Security Products, has unveiled the TVR series of embedded video recorders. The two models, TVR and TVR-VS, support single remote client software, with voice-back function. This series promises higher-quality video and increased storage. With H.264 compression and real-time recording options, the recorders can be configured to support multi-level user management. The firmware is also “easily upgraded” from local to remote sites, and comes in 4, 8 and 16 channels. The TVR and TVR-VS offer large-capacity HDD recording and TCP/IP transmission, while the embedded Linux OS promises reliability. Other features include alarms, local or remote PTZ control with multiple dome protocols available, remote operation, live viewing of up to 64 cameras at once, and the ability to manage multiple users and their associated privileges.
